For Valentine’s Day, I give you a little 1940’s romance! The song is “I Had the Craziest Dream.” It was first performed in 1942 by the Harry James Orchestra with vocalist Helen Forrest in the movie Springtime in the Rockies. Betty Grable, Harry James’ future wife, starred in the film.

I hope this song makes your Valentine’s Day a little sweeter!

“She was performing "I Had the Craziest Dream" for the second time, but there was no one to sing to, and her eyes and passion were directed upward to a man not present.”

Songbird, Chapter 38
