The 1940s and 1950s gave us some special love songs. Written and performed amidst War World II and the Korean War, they were heartfelt and full of longing, sincerity, and even fun. Here is one from 1950 for you and your Valentine this Valentine’s Day!

The song “All My Love” was a popular song by Patti Page. It was released in August 1950 and became Page’s first number one hit. Afterward, she became the best-selling female artist of the 1950s.

The music for “All My Love” was written by Paul Durand, and the English lyrics were written by Mitchell Parish. I love the song’s Spanish undertones. Take a listen with your Valentine!

“All my love, I give you all my love. The skies my fall my love, but I will still be true.”

The words made her eyes seek out the man in the back, the man who was there to stand and listen to her sing.
